The squad represents WWII Royal Marine Commandos at the Normandy landings on D-Day, 6 June 1944, wearing authentic D-Day battledress and webbing, the iconic green Commando beret, and carrying two-tone SMLE style LEGO guns.

Royal Marines participated in Operation Overlord with over 17,000 troops, making it the largest single commitment in Corps history.
